NGL OrionElog® is a cross-platform mobile application that provides a federally certified Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliant Electronic Logging Device (ELD) system. NGL OrionElog® is a solution designed to automatically record a commercial driver's Hours of Service (HOS) and maintain federal regulatory compliance.
The system electronically synchronizes with a vehicle's engine control module (ECM) to capture driving time, engine hours, vehicle movement, miles traveled, and vehicle identification information without requiring manual entry by the driver.
NGL OrionElog® is competitive differentiated from other available systems in that it additionally provides a full-suite of diagnostic parameters used as a real-time Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) for vehicles. By pulling and analyzing PGN/SPN CANbus data, NGL OrionElog® offers predictive analytics for maintenance and also validates mechanics’ assessments of problems.
NGL OrionElog® and interface with any open and FMCSA-approved devices. However, for full functionality it is recommended to use ELD hardware available as XCOM5G and XCOM5GC. In addition, for simultaneous trailer or container freight and security management, NGL OrionElog® is compatible with XSEN5G which offers an interface to over 1,000 sensors.

The system automatically records duty status changes, including Off-Duty, Sleeper Berth, Driving, and On-Duty Not Driving activities, while maintaining a secure and auditable electronic record of duty status (RODS).
The platform provides real-time visibility into driver availability, remaining drive time, rest break requirements, and compliance status, enabling fleet operators to improve dispatch planning while reducing the risk of Hours of Service violations.
In addition to regulatory compliance, the system supports roadside inspections by providing standardized electronic data transfer capabilities through telematics and local transfer methods approved by FMCSA. The solution maintains tamper-resistant records, stores required historical data, and generates compliance reports for drivers, carriers, safety managers, and enforcement personnel.
Advanced ELD platforms often integrate with transportation management systems, fleet maintenance applications, dispatch systems, GPS tracking, vehicle telematics, driver qualification files, and safety management programs. These integrated capabilities provide carriers with enhanced operational intelligence, including:
Driver utilization
Fleet productivity
Route performance
Vehicle diagnostics
Maintenance alerts
Real-time fleet visibility
